Advisors:
Shiva Gautam, Ph.D
Dr. Gautam is an Associate Professor at Harvard
Medical School, and Biostatistics Director of Harvard-Thorndike
General Clinical Research Center at Beth Israel Deaconess
Medical Center (A Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital).
Dr. Gautam is also actively involved in Nepalese community
in the US through various organizations, forums, foundations,
as well as social and political activities. He also writes
poetry, short stories, essays and commentaries.
Rudra Pandey, Ph.D.
Rudra (Chief Technology Officer) is a founder of D2Hawkeye
in US and IT Experts Group in Nepal which has merged with
D2Hawkeye to become D2HawkeyeServices, the largest software
company in Nepal. He has done extensive consulting with prestigious
financial institutions, such as the World Bank, Bank of America,
where he led a major business systems reengineering and with
large health care organizations. Rudra holds a Bachelor's
degree in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Economics
from Northeastern University, Boston. There are numerous examples
set by him when it comes to giving back to Nepal.
Boston:
Shailesh Gongal (Chair): A civil engineer
turned city planner with a Master’s degree in City Planning
from MIT. Now a Senior Airport Planner in Boston. Moderates
the monthly discussion program “Chhalphal Discussion
Series” on issues related to Nepal in Boston (contact:
chhalphal@chhalphal.org). Serves on the Greater Boston Nepali
Community Board of Directors. Loves photography and painting.
Believes in the inherent goodness of Nepali heart.
Sanjeeb Khanal (Co-chair/Treasurer): A senior
information technologist working for Northrop Grumman. Holds
a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Arizona State
University and Bachelor of Engineering degree from BIT India.
Mabi Singh (President): Holds a BDS degree
from Pakistan and MS from Tufts University (Boston). He is
an Assistant Professor in General Dentistry and also a DMD
candidate of 2007at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Muna J Pandey (Vice President): Holds a finance
degree from Northeastern University, Boston. Worked for about
two years as Application Software consultant for Winchester
Hospital. Plans to go back to graduate school and learn more
about financial management.
Ishwar Khatiwada (Secretary):
Ishwar holds two Masters degrees in International Economic
Development from University of New Hampshire and Applied Economics
from Northeastern University. Currently he is working as a
Senior Economist at the Center for Labor Market Studies at
Northeastern University. He did his schooling from AVM and
I.Sc from Kathmandu University.
San Pradhan (Member): San is the Guru of
Sajha.com and gbnc.org. Through Sajha.com, he has helped bring
together Nepalese from all over the world. Works as an IT
Professional in Boston.
Niva Shrestha (Member): Niva holds a masters
degree in Social Work from Marywood University, Scranton,
PA. She is currently working as a social worker at New Communities
Services in Boston. Served as a secretary for Greater Boston
Nepali Community in '02/03.
Anil Shrestha (Member): Anil
Shrestha holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and is
currently working as an IT Engineer at D2Hawkeye Inc. in Waltham,
MA. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
from REC-Trichy, India and have worked for Toyo Engineering
and Colgate Palmolive.
Ashwin Ghimire (Member):
Graduate from Slippery Rock University with bachelor’s
degree in Computer Science. Currently working for internet
provider in Boston.
Bibhoo Shrestha (Member):Holds
a BS degree in Computer Engineering from University of Bridgeport.
Currently working in Hewitt Associates as System Configuration
Analyst.
Sebi Thapa (Member): A graduate of University
of Bridgeport with MBA, major in Finance and minor in marketing.
She currently works as Tax Analyst at UBS, Stamford, CT.
New York:
Abhaya Shrestha (Member): Abhaya started
his career as a Financial Analyst at Morgan Stanley &
Co., Inc.’s Technology Investment Group. He is now the
Vice President at Behrman Capital in New York City. He currently
serves on the boards of ADVENTIS Corporation and ACS Communications,
Inc. He graduated with honors from Amherst College in 1996
with a bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Economics.
Ujjwal Bhattarai (Member): An Environmental
Engineer from Texas A&M, edits and coordinates the first
Nepali electronic Magazine "The Nepal Digest" from
New York, which reaches mailboxes of more than 5,000 Nepalis
all around the world.
Prerana Shrestha (Member):
Prerana is a PhD candidate in Neuroscience at The Rockefeller
University in New York. She graduated from Bates College in
2003 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Chemistry.
She also serves in the executive committee of International
Nepali Biomedical Society (INBS).
Raksha Pant (Member):
Based in NYC, Raksha currently works in McKinsey & Company's
Asset Management Research Practice. Raised in Thailand and
the Philippines, Raksha graduated from Bryn Mawr College in
2002 with an Economics major/Math minor. Raksha, along with
her 3 friends, recently launched
Badi ko Sathi, a non-profit -in progress focused on educating
Badi children and raising societal awareness about the Badi
plight.
Sworupa Khadka (Member):
Sworupa currently works as an Assistant Operations Manager
at Mellon Financial Corporation in its Consulting and Investment
Solutions group. Prior to this, she worked as a Business Systems
Analyst in Hewitt Associates in Connecticut. She graduated
from University of Bridgeport, CT in 2001 and is the founding
member of XMA (Xavier's Mary's Alumni Association). She has
organized various social and fund raising events/activities
in the New England and tri-state area.
Monica Shrestha (Member):
Monika began her career as a Financial Analyst at Salomon
Smith Barney and was previously a Principal at Waterview Advisors
LLC. She is currently with Lazard Asset Management in New
York. Monika holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School,
a B.S. in Economics (with a concentration in Finance) from
the Wharton School, and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering
from The University of Pennsylvania.
Baltimore:
Navin Dhakal: Navin was born in Lahachowk,
a village in Kaski District. He had his secondary education
at Budhanilkantha School and graduated from University College
London with a B.E in Chemical Engineering and his PGCE in
Chemistry from King's College London. He has taught at Budhanilkantha,
United World College of the Adriatic (Trieste, Italy) for
four years (during which he founded HeNN Italy), and Pearson
College, Canada for two years. Currently he is teaching at,
St. Timothy's School in Maryland, USA. Navin feels glad that
he is part of HeNN, which is set up for a Noble cause.

Kumar Pandey: Kumar works is Silicon Valley,
California. He holds MA degree in Engineering from Tufts University,
